Alyssa Graybeal

Alyssa Graybeal is a writer/cartoonist whose first prose book, Floppy: Tales of a Genetic Freak of Nature at the End of the World, won the 2020 Red Hen Press Nonfiction Book Award and will be released spring 2023. Her writing and illustrations have appeared on Entropy and in the anthology Places Like Home, edited by Ariel Gore. She holds a BA from McGill University (2004), a Fibre Art Certificate from Haliburton School of the Arts (2008), and an MLIS from Dalhousie University (2011). When she’s not writing or posting comics to Instagram (@floppyqueerdo), she works as Managing Editor for the Collaborative Summer Library Program, a consortium of public libraries across the U.S. She’s a relentless zine-maker and currently lives in Astoria, Oregon.
